Hi Pangaeans!

Since Korvik's (minor name change) Journal started, I noticed quite a few of of you have been stopping by! I know there's been a gap of time since the last Mission entry, but don't worry the next one is coming. I was pretty under-leveled when I went through the last mission, so I'm taking the time to level my jobs and doing some side quests around Bastok to increase my city fame. I'm about 50% done, I think so the next Mission should be up by Sunday.

As for the game itself, it has not been abandoned. I decided to focus more on the background story and the special shops this time around and I'm having some challenges with this. Delightfully so!

First up to bat are the Seven Gods of Paradise. If you go through the Demo, you'll notice there's a quick reference to that. But who are they and what are they here for? Since good ol' Planet Earth has a bunch of religions, I figured I'd try the same but do something different: Uniting them into one super-religion. Each major town, like Quarry Town, you visit will be worshiped by a specific God and have it's own history. But as you'll see from the first God, they are all united. Here's a bit of a teaser: while there are Seven Gods, there were actually more way back in the beginning. I'm still messing with how many, exactly.

The hard part is the Skill and Synthesis Shop. One of the things I liked about some games I played were you had to make your own ultimate weapons and armor. A low drop rate from a specific monster was just a test of endurance and didn't feel like you truly earned it, even if they were sweet! Thus the Synthesis Shop was born! It's the only way to get weapons that have special effects or boosts in stats. Other weapons and armor you come across will help, but don't expect them to give you an edge (unless you're over-leveled which I expect some of you may do lol).

As for the Skill Shop, I'm still messing with the animations, so this will take considerable time; probably until the story is completed. I have a lot of Skills, both allies and enemies, to make. However, make no mistake: Leveling will not get you more Skills. The only way to get more is to go to a Skill Shop. It's going to start off kind of inconvenient, but once you get a certain key item in the game, you'll have an easier time with it.

Thanks to everyone reading Korvik's Journal and supporting The Legend of Pangaea.
