Hi there Pangaeans!
How are the holidays treating you? Hope things are going well for you! It's Friday and it's the day for letting you know what I'm up to. As things are now, The Adventurer's Journal is still on hiatus. I wish I had more news for you on this, but nothing yet. Don't worry, people, I have no intentions of abandoning this project! As soon as I'm back online to Final Fantasy XI, I'll make a post about it immediately so you know that I'm back to writing! The Legend of Pangaea is moving on track, I'm happy to say. I was feeling ambitious and decided to add something extra, albeit minor, with the free time. I decided to finally fiddle with the text box. It's a little more emotive instead of robotic and has a softer cursor noise as the text passes. I experimented it being quiet, but it didn't feel right. I'm also using the last of my free time (today) to try putting in name boxes. If it works, I'll put them in the demo as well. There's still more I want to do for it, but for now I want this to be the foundation, at least. As I mentioned before, after I release the demo, I'll be devoting all my focus to the battle system for the next demo since the story will be end where I'm satisfied with. So as much as I hope everyone will enjoy version 0.3. I'm hoping you all will enjoy the battle system in version 0.4. To be clear, while I'll be focusing on that for the demo, I'll still work on the main game's progress. All the demos in the world won't make a difference if I don't push the main game forward to completion! ====================================================================================== As a reminder, The Legend of Pangaea Demo version 0.3 will be released Sunday, January 1, 2017, New Years Day. ====================================================================================== No news on the job front. Like before, there's been no change in my status, but no word on when I'm getting started. I know I got the job, I just wish I'd get started already. The sucky thing about government jobs is the crazy amount of red tape to get anything done. But whatever it takes. If worse comes to worse, I'll take a job at McDonald's or something to get some kind of income going. For now, I'm holding on to the estimated date (January 3rd or 4th) and seeing what's going to from there. If there's no word, I'll look for some alternate form of income until this job starts. Thank god my family has been helping me in these times... Not just my family, you all supporting the game and spreading the word has been a wonderful thing too. I get an average of 100 people on my site a day. Not a lot, but it's WAY more than I was expecting I'd be when I started out. Thank you all so much, all of you! You're support also means the world to me!
