Hi there, Pangaeans!
Sorry for the late post! A couple things happened today that set me back, none of them bad. Let's get caught up, shall we?
For The Legend of Pangaea, I decided to make a "test" project and a "tutorial" project on the side to help me with my work. The "Test" project is where I do all my fiddling with the graphics, musics, events, etc without it running into problems with the game itself. One of my major issues for 0.3 was that when I was testing, I didn't clean up all the test materials which raised all kinds of hell. This will prevent me from making that same mistake twice from here on. The "Tutorial" project is where I keep all my notes on how what works so in case I forget, I'll just go to that instead of sifting through endless of pages of writing. This can range from the basics, like how to make a character, to the more advanced stuff, like scripting and plugins. Neither of these will see the light of day. They're for my own personal use.
For The Adventurer's Journal, Chapter 9 for Miirah was released early this morning. I can't tell you how happy I was to finally update that again! The next one is pretty lengthy and going to involve a huge undertaking on my part: Korvik, Selvin, and Miirah are going to meet up and fight together for the very first time. So expect spoken dialogue from these three. Yes, you read that correctly, the trio will finally have speaking roles, thought not in their respective chapters (for example: Selvin and Miirah will speak in Korvik's chapter, but Korvik will still have no silent roles. He will speak, however, in Miirah's and Selvin's chapters). This is going to take time, so give me about a couple weeks. The reason why is in the next paragraph.
School is just about over and with that comes the finals! I have Speech and Math for this quarter, so those eat up into a lot of my free time when I'm not doing my day job. As such, it makes it harder for me to make any progress for my writing or the game. I'll make as much progress as I can in the interim, but my studies come first. I hope you understand.
Going into why the post was late, I stood up late the night before and did Miirah's latest chapter, finally uploading it. I then had to go to bed, get to work and spent the rest of my day celebrating my father's birthday (Happy birthday, dad!!). So yeah, been busy for all the good reasons!
Thank you for all your support everyone! Please be sure to keep spreading the word of Pangaea and the Journal!
