Happy New Year in China!
I'm aware it's actually called "Chinese New Year" but I felt rebellious. There was a bit of a celebration on my block last night so I went to bed extra late. Turns out some Chinese neighbors (actual implants from China, not descendants) were throwing a party and even had fireworks ready. Those folks don't stop halfway for a party! Good times. Anyway back to business. So what's the story on The Legend of Pangaea's 0.3 fix? You know, even I don't know. I haven't been able to reach my QA guy, mostly because he's still in school. I know where he lives, though so I'm going to visit him and get the feedback directly. Honestly, I'm taking this silence not as a bad omen, but that the QA guy is being thorough in making sure there's no game-breaking bugs anywhere. Anyways, I'll have answers before the night is over, so just sit tight. What about The Adventurer's Journal? I still have a couple big debts left to pay off first, so it's not ready to reactivate yet. I managed to pay off one big one, so it's only a matter of time before the other two are paid off. After that, I'm back to starting this up and returning the adventures of Korvik, Selvin, and Miirah. Speaking of adventures, I've been strongly considering adding Star Wars: The Old Republic as another story to write, but a few details hold me back. See, in this game there are 8 stories (4 Republic and 4 Empire) where you can play as either man or woman and as either good or bad, making at least 32 possible ways to play the game (and they said algebra wouldn't be of any use outside of school...ha!). I'd make a poll about this, but since I'm not big enough to have people on polls, I'll just do my own thinking on this. Another thing that stops me is that even though I like Star Wars, I don't use the terminology that well (for example, I still kill droids "robots" or "bots" and refer to the Force as "magic" or "mana"). I can change my writing to adapt this, but I fear the hardcore fans who'll jump down my throat for screwing up a sentence to not be more Star Wars-like. Add to the fact I like it when evil aligned classes go hero. Like, I play Light-Side Bounty Hunter (a hunter with honor code who doesn't kill needlessly) and Light Side Sith Warrior (A Dark Side force user who values life and fights for justice, not personal gain, and chooses the diplomatic path, not the path of violence; basically a smartass Jedi who can use Dark Side powers and has a smooth British/Imperial accent). See? Much to consider. Anyway, I'll keep you posted the second I learn something, which as I said earlier is I hope is before tonight. If you have ideas of your own, don't be afraid to send them to me at: twilightfaze@thelegendofpangaea.com or my personal e-mail at twilightfaze@ymail.com. Thanks to everyone showing support as always!
