Hi Pangaeans!
It's been a very busy week. And a lot has been done, so let me share! Thanks to the new tools from RPG Maker MV's update, I've been updating certain areas in the game to prep for The Legend of Pangaea demo version 0.3. There have been quite a few changes since version 0.2: - Zack's Home from outside has been visually revamed to appear more realistic. - The inside of Zack's home's layout has been changed to a two level house - The unnamed area that links between Zack's reality and Pangaea has been redesigned, structurally. - New Home Town has been changed in MANY ways. Here are a few noteworthy ones: - The layout has been changed to appear more like a town - Three new areas have been added: The Barracks, a graveyard, and the Church - The interiors of the kitchen and the armory have been redesigned As you can see, there will be quite a few changes to look forward to. Because of these structural redesigns, some of the other aspects of the game have changed too. For example, the battle tutorial will be moved to the New Home Town Barracks as well as other in-game explanations. Demo 0.3 will have all these changes as well as new flashback sequences which will show a glimpse of Ace, Boulder, and Cici. Speaking of your party members, they will also have different costumes temporarily to fit in with the rest of the story. I didn't realize it at the time, but while I did so for Boulder and Cici, I forgot to to do it for the rest of the freedom fighters. That's been fixed. Because of other areas not seen in the Demo, I had to update those areas too. I wanted to ge those out of the way sooner rather than later. There's no release date for Demo 0.3, but I'm hoping to get it out before the 25th. Next is The Adventurer's Journal. Miirah and Selvin's Chapter 9 will mark the last of my focus on just those two. After re-reading Korvik's journal entries, I wonder if maybe I didn't make a mistake somewhere on his starting area. Bastok is known for strained Hume-Galka (two of the major races of the series) relations, I'll look into it more and see if I need to redo it. I'm not really playing the game for unique items anymore since I haven't been playing since the beginning. I just want to play the main story and re-tell the story (by the time I reach the ending the spoilers will have been out and about for a while. I have another project I want to throw around: since I play Star Wars: The Old Republic, another online game, I've been considering making another story based on this game series as well, since the main characters actually talk making writing it a lot easier. If it was possible to play Final Fantasy XIV's story back in 1.0 before the reboot, I'd consider doing that! It looks like I'm finally back in the workforce for real this time! The good news is it's a government position so it's a pretty secure position that pays properly. Not great, but not bad either. Problem is it's a physically demanding job that can go all seven days for 10 hours a day. This means it'll slow my work down considerably, but I'd rather be exhausted and getting paid instead of unemployed and lose, say, my car or my trademark and copyright. It's not a sure thing yet, but my interviewer made it seem like I was a lock! I choose to be hopeful. For that reason, my goal is to be done with Demo 0.3 before the month is over. And once I get used to my job schedule, I can find out if I want to add a new series or not. Thanks to everyone who reads "The Adventurer's Journal" and supports "The Legend of Pangaea." Every day I make this gesture of gratitude because every day I really am that thankful you all show such support for them!
