Early Report for the Week, December 15

12/15/2016

Hi Pangaeans!

Bet you're wondering what the heck is going on this past week, huh? Well, I'll tell you!

In regards to The Adventurer's Journal, you'll notice neither chapter 9 has been out a while. Truth is, Selvin's was done on time, but Miirah's hit a major snag. The mission requires I get another player to assist me in going through a set of doors, but due to my low server population, I can't get anybody. So I have to take the backdoor approach. Unfortunately, I need to be famous at a certain level in Windurst to access the quest for it. And to REALLY set me back, I'm under-leveled to make it through the questline. So since Miirah's is gonna take me a while to get finished, I'll upload Selvin's after I finish this post just so I can have SOMETHING up there. Then I'll return my focus into getting Miirah set up so I can finish HER chapter. I swear, Windurst has the hardest and/or most complex missions of all three nations.

As for The Legend of Pangaea, the visual updates for the areas are done, but now I have to remap some people and places. For example, one of the events has it where if you enter the front door of Zack's home, you'll be in the armory of New Home Town. I've also moved most of the tutorials to a certain place in New Home Town. Again, for example, I got rid of the battle tutorial in Zack's home and moved it to another location where I made it more appropriate to use. The tutorial will go over how to use the controls better and explain the Magic and Tech functions among other things. Everything about the tutorial is completely optional, but you do get something for it if you choose to go over everything. The reason for this is to entice new players to familizarize themselves with the battle system and for repeating players to recall anything they forgot and get something out of making sure nothing is overlooked. The barebones for the flashback sequence in the demo is pretty much done. Once I reach the point where the flashback starts, I'll focus on it. It's a lot more interesting that reading a wall text regarding the past, but ultimately, it's still longer, time-wise, than what it was before. Not only that, but I still have every intention of expanding the demo to the first area on the World Map so you can have a small taste of what's to come.

So why the early post? One part is to focus on finishing Miirah's chapter 9 as soon as I can. I still want to do all three chapter 10s before the year is over.  The other part is because it's the holidays where I'm at, family time is sort of required of me. No, I'm not married nor do I have kids, but I do have siblings and parents and I gotta go visit them or they might forget what I look like! Don't want that; I kinda like these people. As far as I know, I start working sometime early January, but that can change. I'm still waiting on the final word about that. I'm still in the offer phase which is a really good sign! I just hope it's soon since I officially am out of money. It's gonna be close, but if all goes well, I should be alright, though I don't doubt I'll need to play catch-up on some bills.

And now for an announcement: Once my money situation is back on control, I'll be undergoing a 3rd project where I'll be critiquing the games I bought over the years on Twitch! I already have my YouTube and Twitch accounts all set up. I'm also planning a suit to put together since I want to keep things interesting. The Twitch is meant more for player interaction as they voice in (delayed) real time as I talk about whatever game is on topic or anything else they want me to discuss, even if it's not related to the game at all. This is probably not gonna happen until sometime May or June, but I'll keep you posted about it as it progresses. This is something I've been wanting to do for years, so I'm really excited to finally get this underway! I'm not doing this for fame or fortune. It's just for fun!

I can't tell you how much I appreciate everyone's support and spreading the word about me. Every last one of you means a lot to me and I can't thank you enough!
