Hi there Pangaeans!
As the title alludes, I'm back from my vacation (since a few days ago) and I'm back to work. Unfortunately, I forgot to bring some crucial data with me when I was away so I couldn't work on Demo 0.3 while I was away. This is for the best and I'll explain why:
Demo 0.3 is still going to happen, but I realized I cam across more snags and problems in trying to expand the demo. I'm starting to see why some game companies jumped from one area to another in their demos. I won't do that since it would confuse everyone. Someone brought up the fact that despite the game taking place in a book, the game itself wasn't book-themed. That's on purpose. In the first draft I did have allusions to "pages" and "chapters" and "volumes" and so forth. However, the thing is Pangaea is another world and the medium was through a book. And this leads me to my next dilemma: considering modern times, I've been wondering if I should instead make it a video game instead of a book. The original story, The Incredible Poke-odyssey, did just that and went back to game knowledge over book knowledge for the main hero.
I'm going to put a poll up for the rest of the year to see what readers think: Should I change Zack/Zero's method of Pangaea knowledge through the books and keep everything as it is or change it to video games and change some portions of the game to reflect this in its place? I don't know if anyone polls anymore...I'll soon find out!
The changes won't be too great and won't affect the storyline any, but it MIGHT have me push back the date a little bit. Maybe a week or so at best, but then again, I don't have a hard date set yet.
In more personal news, I have recently rediscovered the MMO, Star Wars: The Old Republic. As a subscriber, your level jumps easily making you ridiculously overpowered in the original storyline, but added content makes things fun. Also, I finally got a promising interview instead of the dead-ends I usually get so I may finally be employed soon. We'll see.
I'll put the newest Selven and Miirah chapters up this weekend, either late Friday/early Saturday. It's the start of their new Rank 2 adventures, so hopefully the wait is worth it :) It won't be long before I bring back Korvik either!
Thanks again for everyone's support!
