LIMITED TO JUST THE DEMO CHARACTERS
ZACK "ZERO" CYPHER
Zack is the main character of the story.
He is from America, is 16 years old, a high school student, and a part-timer at a corporate office. He and his dad recently moved to this new town.
Zack loves to read! His favorite book series is an 8-book series called The Adventures of Ace. Ever since he was a kid, he would always dream of being a hero and still pretends to be a sword-fighter.
Due to a phenomenal event, Zack is whisked away to Pangaea, the world Ace is from. But a certain event from the book had changed horribly causing a catastrophic series of events. Zack takes on the name Zero to protect his home and agrees to go on a quest to help not only save the world but find his way back home!
Zack is gifted in the ways of the sword due to his years of self-training. For reasons unknown, he also has been gifted with a mysterious power, magic, usable only by monsters.
Boulder is one of the three legendary heroes that traveled with Ace.
Boulder is the Guild Leader of the Earth Guild located in Quarry Town. He traveled with Ace after his town was attacked by the Black Guild. With Ace's help, his town was saved. Out of gratitude, he joined Ace on his adventures. He followed Ace back to his island, Home Town, where he would flirt with the local beauties. When his back was turned, Ace was kidnapped in an ambush. However, Ace was able to escape and meet with Boulder and Cici back in Home Town who were waiting for him, confident he would.
Unfortunately, what really happened is that Ace never did return. The enemy came back as the Plague Guild and trapped Boulder and his friends! Boulder and other combatants formed a resistance group and have been combating the Plague Guild. During a patrol, he came across Zero, a mysterious boy in odd clothes. He agrees to join Zero on his adventure for a chance to see if Quarry Town is ok as well as find a team strong enough to defeat the Plague Guild.
Boulder is typically the rational one in the group. Before he met Azami, he was easily smitten with a pretty face; a trait that he tries to suppress, but not very well. He wields a large hammer in battle and can use Earth-based techniques, making him immune to any Earth-based magic and techniques, but susceptible to it's weaknesses...
Cici is one of the three legendary heroes that traveled with Ace.
Cici is the youngest Guild Leader in Pangaea and the master of the Water Guild located in Provenance City. Cici was interested in joining Ace, her first real friend, and his adventure so she could see the world. It wasn't until an attack on the Black Plague that her triplet elder sisters reluctantly agreed to take over the guild. Cici jumped on the chance to join Ace and has been a valuable member of the trio. She initially wanted to go after Ace after he was kidnapped from an ambush, but was outvoted and agreed to stay behind.
This decision would haunt her for years. When the Plague Guild took over, she and the rest of Home Town were forced to hide or submit themselves to slavery. She and the other combatants joined together to form a resistance group, fighting the Plague Guild at every turn. During a patrol, she came across Zero, an odd-dressed boy. Initially she mistook him for a civilian trying to escape, but was shocked to find a physical similarity to Ace! She agreed to join Zero on his quest to determine who Zero really is...but to also find her dearest friend.
Cici can be short-tempered and over-confident, but she is also a strategist, able to think quick and strike quicker. She is still a teenage girl at heart and harbors a crush for Ace, though she poorly tries to deny this. Her only weapons are her fists. Because of her mastery of her guild, she is impervious to water, but suffers their weaknesses as a drawback...
Azami is a wandering warrior from Sarapia, the Sky Islands.
In the stories, Azami was always enamored with the idea of visiting the Lower World, Pangaea. She snuck down and spent years traveling the world seeing the sights and fighting off monsters. She eventually ran into Ace and his friends and for a while were not on friendly terms due to Ace trying to save the world and Azami preferring to leave things to their own devices. She was eventually convinced after seeing an attack from the Black Guild and was part of the group the prepared to lead the final assault on the Black Guild itself.
Things were different when Zero arrived: Azami was at Home Town a good 2 years earlier than when the books said. Shemet Ace in Home Town when he arrived and wanted to fight him, but dressed as a monster, for reasons she won't say. During the fight, Ace was kidnapped by the Black Guild trio, thinking he was a rare monster. After a week, he still never returned and the Plague Guild arrived. As the years passed, she and Boulder grew close and entered a relationship, though she has some insecurities about them. She agrees to join Zero on his mission to find strong people to further her own skills.
She may seem aloof and self-centered, but Azami is actually compassionate and very wise for her age and is typically the voice of reason within the group. She excels in the ways of the spear. She is agile due to her cat-like race and possesses no elemental affinity or techniques. Unfortunately, this means as good a fighter as she is, she has no ability to exploit weaknesses.
June is from the Sky Islands, yet was raised mostly as a Pangaean and is a proud Elvan policewoman.
She is originally from the Sky Islands of Sarapia, but spent most of her childhood in Pangaea where she and her family became police officers for the various cities of Pangaea. June was a cop in Home Town, by a twist of fate and dutifully served to keeping the peace.
June was cut off from the island when the Plague Guild attacked and has been searching for a way to get back in for six years. However, even just one woman is no good against an army and has been lying in wait for a golden opportunity. That opportunity finally arrived in the form of Zero.
Don't let June's pretty looks fool you! June is all about the law and isn't afraid to use her gun to keep law-breakers in line. Her young looks and voice belie her real age of a woman in her 40's (but don't tell her that!). As long as you don't anger her, June is friendly and typically the voice of reason. She's a serious person with no love for law-breakers, or even law-benders. If you're going to save the world, you'll have to do it right! Luckily for Zero, June is not above using the legal loopholes to make sure their mission progresses. June is a master marksman and can use any gun in Pangaea, If it can be shot, June is your gal!
RICARDO "RICK" INVEIGLER
One of the Black Guild trio that hounded Ace and his friends.
In the original story, Rick saw himself as a genius and master fighter, but was always screwing up his plans to take down Ace. He is almost never seen without his partners, Mave and Nails. Rick's mission was to capture Ace and turn him into a slave of the Black Guild. He succeeded in capturing him when Ace let his guard down at his village of Home Town. Ace was able to fend them off and escape. Rick was eventually defeated and went to prison for life at the end of the story.
However, when Zero arrived, things were completely different. Ace never escaped and was missing. To make matters worse, Rick was King of the mysterious Plague Guild, with Mave as his wife, taking over Home Town and destroying any trace of it with his castle. Zero escaped their custody, his first blemish in six years! It's now his personal mission to recapture the mysterious boy with strange powers to remind him who the top dog is!
MAVEN "MAVE" APOSTATE
One of the Black Guild trio that hounded Ace and his friends.
In the original story, Mave (pronounced "Mah-vay") saw herself as the leader, but was always screwing up her plans to take down Ace. She is almost never seen without her best friends, Rick and Nails. Mave's mission was to capture Ace and turn him into a slave of the Black Guild. She succeeded in capturing him when Ace let his guard down at his village of Home Town. Ace was able to fend them off and escape. Mave was eventually defeated and went to prison for life at the end of the story.
However, when Zero arrived, things were completely different. Ace never escaped and was missing. To make matters worse, Mave was Queen of the mysterious Plague Guild, with Rick as her husband, taking over Home Town and destroying any trace of it with her castle. Zero escaped their custody, her first blemish in six years! It's now her personal mission to recapture Zero to remind the world that nobody can stand against the might of the Plague Guild!
One of the Black Guild trio that hounded Ace and his friends.
In the original story, Nails was abandoned when he was a baby for being weaker than other monsters. He was picked up by Rick and Mave and became the inventor of the team, but was always screwing up his plans to take down Ace. He is almost never seen without his best friends, Rick and Mave. Mave's mission was to capture Ace and turn him into a slave of the Black Guild. He succeeded in capturing him when Ace let his guard down at his village of Home Town. Ace was able to fend them off and escape. Nails was eventually caught and sent to a monster prison for life.
However, when Zero arrived, things were completely different. Ace never escaped and was missing. To make matters worse, Nails became the ruler of all the world's monsters, taking over Home Town and destroying any trace of it with his castle. Zero escaped their custody, her first blemish in six years! Nails came too far to let some kid let him take away everything he achieved! With his brilliant mind, he'll invent the perfect robot to catch or take down Zero!
The Black Guild's ultimate warrior and heir to the Plague Guild throne.
Reina's existence was never spoken in "The Adventures of Ace" and is therefore a mystery to even a huge fan like Zero. What little is known about her is she was picked up by Mave at some point and was trained by her for three years. She has since become the most powerful fighter in the guild, surpassing even the Terrible Two, who are known to have defeated an army with no assistance.
Reina's first appearance is accepting a mission from Mave to retrieve Zero and the other rebels, though only Zero is to be taken in alive. Reina is intrigued at Zero's potential and is eager to fight this mysterious human with untold power. Cold and ruthless, Reina focuses only on the mission and is loyal only to her queen. Even Rick and Nails are unable to use their authority to control her due to her hatred of men and monsters. Armed with a katana and untold abilities, Zero is in great danger if he ever does battle with her.
The titular hero of Zack's book series, The Adventures of Ace.
At the ripe age of 10, Ace went out of town to do some errands for his mother. However, a chance encounter with the Black Guild had him chase down the rogues with the blessings of the The Guildmaster, Oliver Padrone. Ace set out from town to town using his wits and his gift in techs and swordplay to fight the Black Guild and lift their reign of terror from the world. Along the way, he teamed up with 10 year-old Cici Hadal and 16 year-old Boulder Promontory and the three youths traveled the world each with their own desire to free the Black Guild's clutch on Pangaea. Ace made it back home only to be ambushed by the Black Guild's stooges: Mave. Rick, and Nails. They failed, however, and Ace was able to escape where his comrades patiently were waiting for him, confident he would return. Afterwards, they set off on their adventures and soon freed the world of the Black Guild all over!
However, when Zero arrived, that's not what happened at all. Ace was caught up in a fight against Azami dressed as a monster for reasons known only to Azami. Mace, Rick, and Nails believed he was a rare monster and captured him and took him away. From that day forward, no one has seen or heard from Ace since.
Because of his long absence, the newly risen Plague Guild took over Home Town and spread their terror throughout the world, obliterating the Black Guild in the process. Many presume that Ace was killed.
But a few still believe he may still be alive and closer than they think...
Matra is the mother of Ace.
After her husband passed away, Matra, respectfully called Mrs. Luminary by everyone, was left raising Ace by herself. Fortunately, the burden was not all on her shoulders since she had the aid of her brother, Oliver Padrone, to educate him about the world. She initially sent Ace to run some errands, but was shocked to learn he was attacked by the Black Guild. After being convinced by Oliver, she sent Ace out into the world with her blessings, but not without her constant concern. She was relieved when he came back half a year later and invited his friends for dinner. On the way, Ace was ambushed and taken away, but Matra was no longer worried after hearing about her son's great accomplishments. Her confidence was well placed as Ace arrived home with a smile on his face and ready to eat!
But a tragedy occurred instead. During a training bout with Azami, Ace was kidnapped thinking he was a monster. Matra was confident Ace would still return once they trio realized they goofed again, but he never came home. Grief-stricken, Matra constantly blames herself for Ace's disappearance and believes he may be dead. She has since joined the underground, using her homemaking skills to at least keep the resistance fighters well fed. On the outside, Matra is smiling and strong, but deep inside still grieves for her missing child.
OLIVER PADRONE, aka "THE GUILDMASTER"
Oliver Padrone is the 10th generation Guildmaster, leader of all the guilds of the world.
Oliver is the elder brother of Matra Padrone, now Matra Luminary. When her husband passed, Oliver helped raised her son, Ace, by teaching him about the various guilds of the world and how each one serves a vital service to the world's needs. He taught Ace the way of combat, but also the gift of wisdom. Everything he taught Ace would soon come to fruition much sooner than he hoped. Ace decided to go after the Black Guild. Initially against the idea because of his youth, Ace's determination won him over and he consented. He always kept tabs on Ace's adventures and was among the first to welcome him home.
Unfortunately, Oliver never got the chance in reality. By the time he heard Ace had arrived, he had already been kidnapped. Soon after, the Plague Guild, a rogue Guild not approved by the Guildmaster, took over his home and his people and spread their grip of terror to all four corners of Pangaea. Ever the inventor, Oliver has been relentless in trying to bring back Ace, certain his power would help free their home. But for six years, he has come up empty on results.
Blitz Padrone is Ace's cousin and his rival throughout the story.
All his youth, Blitz was known as the son of The Guildmaster. High expectations were made of him and he welcomed them, loving the attention. It was hoped by the parents that Ace and Blitz would become close family, much like Oliver and Matra were. Blitz, however, was so wrapped up in his fame, he thought of Ace as a pest and bullied him relentlessly. When Ace went on his adventure, Blitz was horrified that someone might outdo him. Hoping to keep the #1 spot in everyone's minds, he also set out on his own to stop the Black Guild, albeit with the ulterior motive of outdoing Ace. Despite one-upping, and even fighting, Ace a few times, Blitz wasn't evil. He also was ready to give his life at a young age to stop the Black Guild in hopes that the world could be peaceful again. The only difference was he traveled alone and hoped to spread his fame. He arrived back at Home Town before Ace did, but never welcomed him, only hearing the news of his capture. He left to resume his adventure, confident he would run into his cousin again.
Sadly, it was never to be. Blitz decided to stay a little longer than planned hoping to goad Ace when he returned. Instead he found his island cut off from the world and the Plague Guild taking over. Despite his strength, there was too many for even Blitz to face. Forced underground, he honed his techniques for six long years. He reluctantly works as the Second in Command to Boulder and Cici due to the fact they were more experienced with the Plague Guild Trio. With their experience and Blitz's power, they've been able to fight back, but it's been a stalemate every time. Blitz will keep on fighting, but even his confidence is starting to dim...
